Few minutes, after publishing my earlier post on the latest face 2 of the FasteCash Blogging Contest, I decided to check around the web for the current stats of Nigerian Business Blogs, to see those that are occupying the top spots; 'most especially as that's the category this blog falls'.

So, I started searching the web for such a stats and finally I arrived on Afrigatorand guess what; I was surprise with what the stats revealed because it was different from what I had expected.

But, the part that trills me is that this blog was listed among the top 20 according to the Afrigator stats (ranked 13), below is the list of the top 20 Nigerian Business Blogs according to the current Afrigator Stats (stat in the right widget under the advert) as at this morning 6th May, '09:

nigerian top 20 business blogs

15. Chippla's Weblog - Tough
16. AltNigeria Blog
17. Oro
18. Naira Blog
29. Emmanuel Oluwatosin: Insp

Although, the stats solely represents those blogs that are members of Afrigator, I think it's something worthy of note, not because my blog (13th position) is listed but because it stands in the gap where there is currently no other of such that we can (of course, that I know of) easily refer to. Besides, the outcome of the recent Nigerian Bloggers Awards has show that the Afrigator Statsis actually a reliable one, to a great extent.

Nevertheless, I'll like to hear your opinion on this. Do you think the stats really represent what we can regard as the current top list of Nigerian Business Blogs? Please, let me hear your comments.

Cheers!

1. Are You Interested in the Topic? - Interest is what breads passion, before finally deciding to go with a niche you have to be sure you are interested in the topic. It's not that you can't be successful with a niche that you are not interested in but it's will be much easier when you are personally interested in the niche, that way it become less of a work as you will have fun

Generally, viral marketing is type of marketing that facilitates and encourages people to pass along a marketing message. In Internet marketing, viral marketing is any marketing technique that induces websites or users to pass on a marketing message to other sites or users, creating a potentially high growth in the message's visibility and effect. Viral Marketing is sometimes refer to as "word of mouth marketing"

Viral marketing depends on a high pass-along rate from person to person or from website to website. If a large percentage of recipients forward something to a large number of friends, the overall growth rises very quickly and its effect is always amazing

word of mouth marketing, viral marketing, referral marketing

An example!
If you have ever received a funny, interesting or high informative email that was forwarded to you by a friend and you probably would like to forward it to some other of your friends too, then chances are, a lot of people you know saw that same email.

Creating Them

This can be a lot trickier than traditional advertising messages. But if you can create a message, be it an ad unit, a newsletter or a website, that is both compelling enough to spread but that also firmly supports a brand's values and objectives, you might have a winner on your hands.

Some form of Viral Marketing?

Refer a Friend:
Refer-a-friend campaigns type of viral marketing. These are campaigns, which encourage members of a program to introduce friends to the program

Free E-book or Reports:
This is where e-book are given away for free and beneficiaries are encouraged to pass it on to their friends or even given absolutely right to make money selling these e-book provided they agree not to tell their clients about the author or the source

Email Forwarding:
Here you encourage users to forward your predefine marketing email(s) to their friends and contacts. This is very tricky and must be done with wisdom to avoid the risk of “SPAM” which would result in negative results. More on this Click Here

Listed below are few insights on how to execute a viral marketing campaign most effectively.

1. When encouraging pass-it-on, make it as subtly as possible
2. Offer an incentive.
3. Personalize the referral email.
4. Track and analyze the results..
5. Continually promote friendly referrals.

Let me conclude by saying there is no definite way of prevent negative customer reactions, but the few tips above should assist marketers in making their viral marketing campaigns most effective.

Did you noticed something new and different? I bet you didn't. Ok! may be I should let you in on it.

This blog now has a Google PageRank of 2, I'm indeed excited about it cause it came when I stop expecting it. Maybe a little background will help highlight why.

For a while now I have been putting efforts in to making sure that this blog gets a PR rank by Google "Google PageRank", which has really been a bit of time consuming. I was not always convenient with the usual "No PageRank information available" status of this blog. Unfortunately, it never did yielded the result I was looking to get, despite the time I took making sure that the blog is as unique as possible and taking care of all other things attached to it.

At a time, I couldn't help wondering what I was doing wrong. I even bought a domain with the hope that moving to a custom domain should make a different. But, I haven't been able to set that up "an issue from my domain registrar I guess". I still hope to do that as soon as the issue preventing it's execution is solved, and when that happens this blog will be @ www.internetmarketingideaz.com. Also, I've been considering harmonizing all my blogs with a stand alone wordpress and with the way things are going, that might happen anytime from now.

All in all, after I left worrying about the blog PR but, keep making sure I add posts that are as unique as possible, well optimized and very useful, then I run off to get busy with other projects, one of which is the forum Nigerian Bloggers Forum. I suddenly find myself on the blog's homepage some few weeks ago and discovered that the blog has moved to a PR1.

Then, an ideas came to my mind; that if the blog were to have been finally ranked, then it should have been higher than 1 and then I decided to re-optimized the outgoing links on the blog, which I did like two days ago. And guess what's the result! I came on today, only to be greeted with a PR2 and to be honest I'm excited about it.

Finally, I'll like to appreciate all the visitor and especially my loyal reader; those subscribing via RSS Feed, Email, and those taking time to post comments on this blog, I wouldn't be here and archive this without you all. I know this post my seems irrelevant to some readers, nevertheless I know how it mean to me.

Thank a Bunch!

Cheers!
